Community Rules
We want to welcome everyone to Valley Moms. This is a new board dedicated to the mothers of the Wabash Valley. Okay, so their families too. I hope that you will make Valley Moms your home and that we can be with you through your journey to and through parenthood.
Board Rules
There are the rules for posting on our boards. These guidelines are intended to help the flow of conversation, to keep people from offending one another, and to keep our message boards fun and interesting. ValleyMoms.com reserves the right to prohibit any member from the board if they are in violation of any of these rules.
1.) The ValleyMoms.com message boards are discussion boards. They are for *everyone* to share ideas and post their opinions. People will have opinions that differ from your own, but PLEASE do not be rude or offensive in reply. That said, we do not allow any racist, lewd, obscene, hateful, offensive, defamatory, or otherwise disruptive discussion on these boards. We also do not allow outwardly public bashing of any members of our community (or group of members of our community) in journals or any other threads. If you have a problem with someone, keep it off the boards.
2.) We also know that sometimes you have feelings on specific topics. Certain topics don't have right or wrong views or answers. In those cases we require that you stay to the original thread starters questions. If needed everyone can agree to disagree.
Freedom of Speech? Although the constitution of the US guarantees that "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech", Valley Moms is not Congress. Freedom of speech rights do not extend to privately owned websites. The TOS/Guidelines of this website governs the behaviors and activities of the members. If you choose not to follow those guidelines agreed to during registration, the result is a disabling of your account.
3.) Please do not post material on the boards that is copyright protected without permission from the copyright owner. Since there are many thousands of possible sources spread out across the Internet, it is impossible for us at the ValleyMoms.com to know if a posting represents a copyright infringement. The author of a posting is responsible for ensuring that his/her message or uploaded material does not violate any extant copyrights.
4.) The ValleyMoms.com staff reads all posted messages. We may edit posts or delete any messages that violate our guidelines. We do reserve the right to edit subject/thread titles as we deem necessary in order to maintain continuity within the forum. We also reserve the right to move any thread into a more appropriate forum in order to maintain continuity throughout our community.
5.) We also strongly adhere to a ZERO TOLERANCE policy of pornographic material posted on our site. Any visitor who posts pornographic or obscene material within ValleyMoms.com will immediately be banned from using our system in the future.
6.) The ValleyMoms.com message boards are not intended to be used solely for any commercial activity or solicitation. Any vendor who joins for the sole purpose of advertising their service, product, etc will have all their posts removed and will be banned from using any service of ValleyMoms.com. This also includes the solicitation or advertising of other community discussion boards, chat boards, or mailing lists. Again, if you spam our boards, you forfeit your right for any advertising, free or otherwise, on ValleyMoms.com and will completely lose all privileges in our community - this is strictly enforced. Solicitation at this time is not allowed on the boards. There are a couple requirements to participate in the Vendor's section. First you must be an "Junior VM". That means you have been registered for more then 30 days and have more then 100 posts. Also there will be a $10.00 fee/yearly for each thread. Upgraded (Senior VMs) members get this at a discounted rate of $5.00/yearly for each thread. In the Vendor's section you will be able to have your very own thread where you can advertise and keep the members updated on what's new. You'll be allowed 1 extra line in your signature directing the other members of vMoms to your vendor's thread(s) or website. We think that this will be a GREAT source of advertising for our member's business. If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself or one of our Community Leaders!
7.) You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use ValleyMoms.com to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, religious preaching and discussion (except in the appropriate forum), sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by ValleyMoms.com.
8.) Support not medical advice: You agree that you will refrain from posting "medical advice". Please offer support and "my experience" only, not medical advice.
9.) Legal Issues and Lawsuits: You agree not to discuss suing of any other person, facility, businesses...etc. You also agree not to use this website as a place to recruit others to help you in any legal action or data gathering for legal action.
10.) Doctors, Insurance, Care Providers, Lawyers...etc Info: We ask that you do not list insurance companies, doctor names, child care providers or lawyers...etc addresses, phone numbers/websites/urls in the public forums. Recommendations for specific resources need to be kept in personal email or private messaging. You can submit resources to the administration to be listed in the resource directory. You may post in a thread a specific name asking others to pm you their reviews. However, because of legal issues we ask that no names (personal/company/group) of these professionals be included in a forum post as a review/suggestion (good, bad or otherwise).
11.) Public Disagreements with Administration/Staff or Guidelines: You agree that if you disagree with Valley Mom's website policy or action of a staff member, you will not post public arguements or disagreements nor attempt to petition the owner/administration to change policy through, polls, emal, PM or any other service found within the Valley Moms website. If you disagree, you may respectfully email or PM the owner of Valley Moms.
12.) Uploading Photos to Valley Mom's Photo Gallery: You agree through your use of this service that you will upload only photos that are deemed appropriate for public viewing. Photos are also limited in size and disk space per member.
The administration reserves the right to terminate any user or account for any reason, including but not limited to the rules above. Any member who is in violation of the rules and/or guidelines forfeits any remaining time remaining on their membership account. Refunds will NOT be given for any circumstance.
Although ValleyMoms.com does not and cannot review the messages posted and is not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we at ValleyMoms.com reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ValleyMoms.com, Jelsoft, Inc. (the makers of the bulletin board software), and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).
We at ValleyMoms.com also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.
~And of course these rules and guidelines are subject to change at anytime~
